India Burke

India Burke grew up with a rich musical heritage. From her mother who was born and raised in Georgia, she learned the joyous music of the South — blue grass, Baptist choral singing and traditional American folk song. From her father, who came from Romania with parents from the Ukraine, she grew up with the unique gypsy music , the folk songs and dances of Eastern Europe, as well as the brilliant classical traditions. From both parents who loved to dance, to the music of their era WWII came Broadway, sentimental love songs, caberet and jazz. These beautiful

traditions have filled the household throughout the years.
